Fascinating. This is the first I'd heard of FMTDTA and Sort. It's
both impressive and amusing. As I'm sure you must know, to a Unix
veteran, this feels... well, kind of like FNDSTRPDM when you're used
to grep, but even more magnified. It's kind of amazing what Unix
folks could do with awk and sed. And various other included goodies.

And I guess this is really off-topic, but... I think "porting" your
Sort stuff to something else, almost anything else, would be a fun
project. (It would be a great excuse to play with Python, for
example.) And it would be one more step toward relegating ADTS to
"emergency console-use-only" status.
