Thanks Gregg. First I don't see a .log file but deleted an unnamed file that seems to be the log.
Also deleted the .lock file.
Tried RDi again but I get the same error I saw this morning.
An error has occurred. See the log file C:\Users\dboettch\IBM\rationalsdp\workspace\.metadata\.log

There seems to be no option.

Edmund, I'll finish the 11 minute You tube and see if that helps.

Thanks to all.

Any questions, let me know please.

Thanks,

Dave B

Dave,

You should not have to recreate all your filters. No need to create a new workspace. Delete .lock and .log from your current workspace and retry.

I decided to uninstall and re-install RDi V9.1.

When I try to open my old workspace, I get the same error. So, I had to also create a new workspace. That seems to mean re-creating all my connections and filters.
However I seem to be up and running now. It may take a while to re-create everything. And I'm still not positive what corrupted it.
And why I couldn't find how to use the -clean option.

Using RDi V9.1. Can't get more specific right now since I can't start it up.
I may have cancelled in the middle of a debug session yesterday.

My shortcut is "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\IBM Software Delivery Platform\IBM Rational Developer for i V9.1"

When I try to start up I get an error:
An error has occurred. See the log file C:\Users\dboettch\IBM\rationalsdp\workspace\.metadata\.log

I have seen some messages in the archives to use a -clean option. So I created a shortcut on my desktop and followed some directions I found in the archives to change the target to include -clean at the end.
Then I get an error that basically says the string in the target box is not valid.

So I tried pasting the target in a DOS box and it says it's not a valid batch file or executable.

What's next?

TIA,

Dave B
