Before the update to 9.1.1, I could double-click a word and hit CTRL-F to do a find. Now the find doesn't find the word I've highlighted. Is there some config I can do to get that functionality back?

I always preferred to be able to search on the bits I highlighted, so
I've had a keyboard shortcut set up to do this for many moons.

Ctrl-Shift-F mapped to findSelection. Basically, put c-s-f in the Key
box, then select findSelection in the Action dropdown. Click Set, then
Apply. I always forget to click Set and my choice gets lost.

At least in 9.1.1, I find I cannot override Ctrl-F to use findSelection.
Ctrl-F must be baked in at a place where the User Key Actions can't
touch it.
