It is only implemented for ILE RPG.
So don't expect it in CLLE (that would be an RFE).
But there is no reason why it wouldn't work in RPGLE members, I just tried
it and it worked for me. So please open a PMR so we can figure out what is
going wrong for you.

I tried it and it does work...but not in all source.

In an SQLRPGLE source this worked. I highlighted the field and clicked on
the icon. All locations of the field throughout the source were
highlighted in a background of green. (Nice. Previously what I did was
just filter on it, but in some instances you get more than you want.)

In a RPGLE or CLLE source, it didn't work. Highlighting the field and
clicking on the icon did not highlight adjacent variables of the same name.

Is there something in the Preferences section that defines which source
types it works in? If not, then there does appear to be a bug yet (outside
of the SQLRPGLE source it does work in).

It's working fine for me.
I clicked the toggle.
Then in my RPGLE member that was opened I double clicked a field.
It then highlighted all instances of that field in the member.

Maha,

I found the highlighter pen, and clicked on it for the toggle...

It does NOT WORK. It highlight random areas, it makes no sense at all...

Too bad, I love that feature in the Java Editor...

Oh well, maybe it will be fixed on the next release...
<grin>

PS. Should I report this to IBM Support for a fix?

Hi Ken,
This feature is unfortunately hard to discover. You need to select
the small icon that looks like a highlighter pen which "Toggles
marking occurrences of the given entity". Then double click on a
variable. It should mark all of its occurrences in the file.

Thanks,

Hi,

I just updated to RDi 9.1.1 and I notice this RFE:

RFE34041 Highlight Search Fields in LPEX like Java inside
Eclipse

I just updated, and search for a field, and it does NOT highlight
search field like Java inside of eclipse... <disappointment>

Inside of eclipse, if you search for a field, all the fields are
highlighted...

Am I missing something?

The fix list is HUGE! 9 separate RFEs and 50 APARs. Plus some Java
security fixes. Wow.

To install it, close RDi, open IBM Installation Manager and click Update.
Download size is 369.79 MB. Took under half an hour at home from
starting IM to running RDi 9.1.1.
