I can switch workspaces after it starts up, but then that becomes a pain. However I did uncheck the box in the preferences, clicked apply, checked the box again, and then clicked okay. I then closed RDi and restarted it. RDi prompted me for the workspace upon startup. I tried it again several times and each time it prompted me for the workspace. I have no idea why, but it seems to now be working properly. Very strange.

You can try that.
It is really strange that you already have that checked and it is not prompting.
What happens when you File->Switch Workspace and specify the directory you want?

I'm sorry. Did you mean uncheck the box, and then recheck it again?

Buck hit the nail on the head

"Windows > Preferences > General > Startup and Shutdown > Workspaces only has that single workspace listed and the check box 'Prompt for workspace on startup' is empty. So the behaviour is as I expect."
Simply recheck the 'Prompt for workspace on startup' and it should start working again.

What do you use to start RDi/RBD? Is it a shortcut on your desktop or
start menu? Make sure there are no command-line arguments specifying the workspace in those shortcuts.

Otherwise I would expect RDi/RBD to prompt for a workspace if you are
absolutely certain that option is in your preferences.

Adding a data point. Windows 7, 32 bit. I normally click a shortcut on my desktop and RDi opens my workspace without a prompt. File > Switch workspace... > Other shows c:\buck\rdi91 It's a local directory, no spaces in the path name. Windows > Preferences > General > Startup and Shutdown > Workspaces only has that single workspace listed and the check box 'Prompt for workspace on startup' is empty. So the behaviour is as I expect.

When I close RDi and re-start it from Start > Programs, RDi opens my typical workspace without a prompt. Which is also as I expect.
