Oh, of course - thanks for the update.
Have same issue here: so far I'm the one RDi convert.
I use a local command I call from PDM, but your fix apparently skips that detour: nice

From my Sit & Spin program to remove special Hexadecimal values that SEU-Pukes put into their code to add color. Which RDi 9.1 ALREADY HAS!!!
<LOL>

PS. Thanks again Barbara for your Tip! I love it! :)

Barbara,
I'm missing something: In your example [SRCDTA = %XLATE(hex:blk:SRCDTA);], what are 'hex' and 'blk' ?

Pretty much off the main topic but I can't help it ...

For a program-described file, you can use a data structure instead of defining I and O specs. It's nicer when the rest of the program is free-form, and I think it's easier and less error-prone than I and O specs.

dcl-ds srcline;
srcseq zoned(6 : 2);
srcdat zoned(6);
srcdta char(128);
end-ds;
...
open qrpglesrc;
read qrpglesrc srcline;

dow not %eof;
SRCDTA = %XLATE(hex:blk:SRCDTA);
update qrpglesrc srcline;
read qrpglesrc srcline;
enddo;
