Different environment - different behavior.

In SEU, if you type too far, it spills into the next field - the sequence field - without any warning, right? That can get at least pretty annoying, if not downright messy.

Basically almost nothing in Windows behaves like fields on a green screen - even text boxes in browsers are different.

Personally I like the behavior in RSE better than the one in SEU, now that I'm used to it.

Cheers
Vern

I love the BEEPS! It also beeps when I go beyond the length of source on RPGLE!
I'm a simple green screen programmer so this opinion is worth every
penny you paid for it. If the host system can only accept 80 columns of
text, why should the editor allow more than 80 columns of text? I mean,
it seems an anti-feature to be able to type out to column 500 when the
upload is going to wipe all that typing out.

Clearly, Lpex knows I'm typing 'too far' because it's beeping at me.
Wouldn't it be more useful to just lock the keyboard or flow the text to
the next line?
