Hi Pete

Setup for RTC can be daunting - at RJS we found that it is easier to put the Jazz server on a Windows box and install the IBM i build component on IBM i - you have to do that.

It seemed that it was just troublesome to install the Jazz server on IBM i.

Now the community edition is nice, up to 10 users - but no IBM i support specifically, as I recall.

To get the IBM i stuff, you need the Enterprise Edition - not at all cheap - nor are any of the other SCM products.

Just a thought - maybe it'd be possible to fold the IBM i build bits into the community edition - not everything, just enough for this request, if possible to limit some of it.

Then smaller shops could get that edition and benefit from it at low cost and maybe lower effort.

I really like RTC - it gives all stakeholders visibility and accountability in projects. You can create requirements or stories (if doing Agile, its native methodology, IIRC), and it flows nicely into RDi and other Rational tools like Quality Manager. Maybe there's a community edition of that!

Can't speak for everyone on the list but I am a solo developer and based
on the conversations on this list, most of the "teams" on the list are
just two or three. I am not sure how well RTC fits in that
environment. Even in a one person shop like mine, I really want some
change control in my RPG world, but I haven't found anything yet that is
drop dead simple and runs on i. But, it has been a while since I
looked. My last encounter with RTC was not all that encouraging....
