Thanks, Paul. The irony is that we are always behind on releases of RDi
anyway, so even if IBM fix this I could be retired before we get it
here. :-)

Hi Trevor,

Just to keep you in the loop for this particular RFE, a comment has been
added:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
ID: 45610
Headline: Using Error List should highlight the item in error,
not select
Status: Under Consideration
Visibility: Public
Reconsideration: Not applicable

Last comment: This RFE is consistent with our strategy and product
roadmap and IBM is continuing to evaluate.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------

If I remember correctly, this means they are happy with the RFE as it is
written and are waiting for a good number of votes before it will become
a potential fix in the next (or later) version of RDi.

To everyone else: If you have been affected by the issue and haven't
voted for this yet (and you can vote, which should be everyone with an
IBM ID) then please vote.

-Paul.

I've raised the RFE for the "select on error-list double-click" problem
as I do have the right credentials: (Hopefully nobody else has
duplicated it.)

Vote if you want either or both.

This behaviour is the current design. An RFE is an appropriate way to
request a change.

Hi Michael - it looks like Thomas has hi-jacked me again! :-)

I don't have the credentials to open an RFE, but it would be nice if
someone from IBM could explain if this behavior is a bug or working as
intended.

Thanks for re-posting your original issue. I, too, noticed it had been
hijacked by related issues. I've often been bit by the error list
selected text when I go to fix the error. Definitely post the link if
you open an RFE for it. I'll be another voter.

Re: [WDSCI-L] Turn off auto-selecting of text from Error List

I'm re-posting this question because the original thread was
sidelined.

This is the scenario:
1) Do a compile, see errors in the Error List pane.
2) Double-click on an error to get the errors marked in the source
editor.
3) Return to editor and commence fixing source.
4) Select some source, but invariably forget that double-clicking in
the
Error List has already selected some source behind the scenes.
5) Curse because now a huge chunk of my program is selected.
6) Press Alt-U to unselect everything.
7) Re-select the source I really wanted to select.

Is there a way to stop this automatic source selection when
double-clicking in the Error List?
