You can discover the details of "iSphere Message File Search" in source
member XFNDSTR of file ISPHERE/QRPGLESRC.

Briefly described, the Message File Search works like this:

a) The plugin requests a search handle from the iSphere System i part
(library ISPHERE).
b) The plugin adds the message file names to be searched to file XFNDSTRI.
c) The plugin calls the search program on the System i, doing the actual
search using the QMHRTVM API.
d) The search program places the result into file XFNDSTRO.
e) The plugin reads the result from file XFNDSTRO.

just a little bit more than three weeks until it`s Christmas again.
