Peter,

Yes, I've encountered both.

For the IBM i Editing perspective being blank, I ended up opening the views I wanted and arranging them the way I wanted, more or less like it was on the WDSCi 7.0 version.  I suspect the issue is that the perspective was built for RDP 8.x, and it doesn't translate to 9.0 very well.

I haven't solved my help updater issue on my laptop, although it works fine on my old desktop and for all of the other users here.  Despite a lot of research and experimenting, I always get the HTTP 500 Jetty error if I try to use it.  I've resigned myself to just enabling the online help and disabling the local help (Window => Preferences, then Help => Content).

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Fresh RDi install - problems.

Hi group,

I installed Rdi 9.0 today and of course want to use the IBM I Editing perspective included in the RSE extensions from Softlanding.

However, for some reason the perspective is completely blank.

The messages and spool files plugins do work when I navigate to them from the RSE Explorer view.

I tried it with a new workspace, using a copy of my WDSCi 7.0 workspace, adding "-clean" to the startup command, all to no avail.

Second problem is that the I get an error "Unable to start Local Help Updater" every time I start the product.

Has anybody experienced (and preferably also solved) either or both problems?
