I've probably run for about 10 working hours now without a lockup. I
cleared out all the caches I could find. I did the -clean startup. I also
disabled local help. One of these things appears to have reduced my
mid-day working java heap usage from 175 to 57MB and I haven't locked up
yet.

I am using *USRLIBL for my filters, they're not big as I specify individual
members, but I'm not usually interacting with the filters when things
freeze up. I'll try the -clean thing as it seems to be getting worse even
this morning.

I also use RDi 9.0.1 in Win7x64. I have not seen this particular problem
with freezing but I have seen others.

The most problematic freeze came when I pressed F1 to get context help. I
cured this by adding " -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true" to the eclipse.ini
in the RDI programs folder. Killing RDI through Task Manager was the only
way to correct the freeze without the eclipse.ini fix.

Another freeze is happening when a big RSE filter is being opened. This
corrects itself over time, but if you have "User Libraries" or something
similar expanded in your RSE view then this could be an issue.

Related to the last one is the "Re-open Remote Systems view to previous
state" preference in the "Remote Systems" section of the preferences
screen. When ticked it can take a long time to get RDI to respond after a
connection has dropped and then restarted. Unticking the option is the
work-around, but a non-slow net connection is usually all that is needed.

If none of that seems likely, or you try and doesn't help, then all I can
suggest is to make certain to clear your cache, start RDI using the -clean
parameter (once) and, if all of that fails, finally try using a brand new
workspace.

Intermittently, I have RDI 9.0.1 freeze on me around 2-3 times per day
while editing RPGSQLE source. I can access the menu bar, but the RSE
perspective itself seems to lockup, almost like there is an invisible
dialog box somewhere, but I don't think that's it. Anyway, I found that
minimizing the window and restoring it frees up the perspective and it
starts working again. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit, and I stretch RDI between a
couple monitors. Does anyone have a more permanent solution to this issue?
