As to the Softlanding plugins - they're working nicely in RDi 9.0. I think there was a recent thread on installing them. If you already have them for an earlier release of RD*, you point to the C:\Program Files (x86)\SoftLanding\RSE Extensions\Eclipse directory (for 64-bit) or the C:\Program Files\SoftLanding\RSE Extensions\Eclipse (for 32-bit). Thanks to Doug Davie for that.

As to getting RDi 9.0, I used Eric's instructions and got the trial version. Instructions were in a recent thread, but here is the pertinent section, as I recall.

"Web Installs of RDi V9.0 trial and RD AIX and Linux V9.0 are possible but
the standard developerWorks trial pages are not available yet. So, there
are some manual steps required temporarily if you do not want to wait for
the updates to the developerWorks pages.
1. Install IBM Installation Manager 1.6.3.1. If you have Installation
Manager installed already, in File>Preferences go to the 'Updates'
preference page. Make sure that 'Search for Installation Manager updates'
is checked. If you do not have Installation Manager, please see
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24035049
2. Specify the repository for RDi 9.0 or RD AIX and Linux 9.0 in
Installation Manager. In Installation Manager, go to the 'Repositories'
preference page. Add a repository. For RDi 9.0, specify
https://www.ibm.com/software/repositorymanager/com.ibm.rational.developer.ibmi.v90
. For RD AIX and Linux 9.0, specify
https://www.ibm.com/software/repositorymanager/com.ibm.rational.developer.aixlinux.v90
.
3. Click 'Install' in Installation Manager. You will be prompted for a
user id and password. This is your IBM ID. It is required to be able to
install the trial. If you do not have one, you can register for one (they
are free) at developerWorks."

I had to manually install the new IM

As to IBM's spooled file option, you can't print from there that I know of. I've had to select all and copy to something like TextPad. Nor can you save to a file on the PC. All you can do is delete it or look at it.

As to changing font, right-click in the middle of the "Text" tab and pick the font - doesn't work, of course, in the "Image" tab.

Still, Softlanding's does much more, including many of the options in WRKSPLF or WRKOUTQ.

I think you have to register, like IBM to download it. But, it is free...
( download RDP/RDi 7.5+ plug-in, works on RDP 8.0 & RDP 8.5)

I haven't been able to download the newer RDi 9.0 Demo for windows yet. But I imagine it should work!

Whenever the new trial of Rdi 9 for windows is available, I will verify that. And of course report back to the group.

Any update on the normal RDI 9 Demo/Trial download for Windows? I saw the download for AIX & LINUX. But not windows.

I don't know, but I have found the spooled files option to very limited
- I use the Softlanding plugin, it has much better functionality.
