I've been biting my tongue about a concern that I have about the product and the direction it may be heading, but maybe now is a good time to throw it out there. Is the time between fixpacks related to the increasing complexity of the product? As the product continues to be enhanced to include more functionality, is it becoming more complex and harder to make timely fixes? Are we shooting ourselves in the foot with the ever-increasing list of RFE's? Will RDp ever become stable if Rational tries to make it all things to all developers and we keep asking for functionality that already exists in other places?

I think it's more important to demonstrate product demand from the
field. Those RFEs may be the sole input Rational executives have to try
to figure out whether anyone is even using RDp for i. I do not think
things will be better if we self-limit the backlog.

The point about overload is well taken, but I don't think they are
actually trying to work on each and every RFE simultaneously. I have no
inside information on how they schedule work, but I did work for a
software vendor for more than a decade. For each dot release, we did a
mix of many simple / high visibility changes along with a few complex
but important ones.
