Talking about Debug I have a quick question for the Rational Developer for
IBM i / Websphere Development Studio Client for System i & iSeries.

1. It seems that the debug functionality in RDP/RDi requires WRITE access
to the IBM i root directory. I open a fix request with IBM and they said
it will be fixed in the next release.

Has it been fixed?

2. Is there anyway to prevent debug from being about to see passwords and
User ID's without encryption?

Ray

Y'all - there is another graphical debugger that works just like the one

in RDP. It's part of the Java Toolkit, where we get jt400.

The IBM i Graphical Debug is nicely detailed in this article also:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/library/i-debug/index.html

Incidentally, if you have IBM i Access for Windows installed (and IBM i
Navigator) you are able to invoke the Graphical Debug easily (?) through
the RUN SQL SCRIPTS function. (An odd place to tuck it away.) Check out
the RUN menu option and you will see DEBUGGER as a choice.

For completeness, you?ll also find a handy item on the Integrated Debug
function within RDP:

Hope this info. helps someone.
Brian.
