The other thing I find useful is to filter on a selection - in an
editor, drag across some text, right-click, click on "Selection", then
click on "filter" - that gives me a better chance of working through
false positives.

I wondered why I wasn't already doing that, so I tried it. And then I
remembered. The filtered view is too brief to see the context of the
line of code. No problem, think I,, and I press Alt-2 to open up a
second window - which is not filtered, aha! Alas, as I move around the
filtered window, the cursor doesn't move around in the unfiltered
window. On the bright side, Ctrl-L lets me go straight to a given line,
so it's not impossible, either.

For those of us who have colleagues who comment out inactive code,
Filter on Selected finds those lines too. Sigh.

Thanks for reminding me of this Vern.
