For example, I know if I want to keep my WDSCi 7 install intact, I
should copy my workspace and migrate the copy as opposed to the
original.

Yes, the paranoid me would recommend that.

Also, I seem to recall some recommendations, especially for Win 7, was
to install into some other directory other than the default Program
Files....but I believe that was mainly if you didn't have local admin
on your PC???

That is not really necessary. However I would recommend starting the
install in Win 7 by right-clicking on the disk1/lauchpad.exe and selecting
the Run-As-Administrator action to start the install. When selecting what
to install only install what you will be licensed for so that you don't
have a period of sadness when the trial licenses run out...

Eric has given you a link to the 8.5 install guide. Handy thing that
internets...

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Tips/Tricks for Installing RDp 8.5?
Sent by: wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

In a sure sign of the Apocalypse....we got licenses for RDp 8.5... :)

A handful of developers will be installing the product, some of new
Win 7 PCs, others on WinXP PCs that already have WDSCi 7.0...

Are there any tips/tricks we should know about? Or does anybody have
any links to such tips/tricks?

For example, I know if I want to keep my WDSCi 7 install intact, I
should copy my workspace and migrate the copy as opposed to the
original.

Also, I seem to recall some recomendations, especially for Win 7, was
to install into some other directory other than the default Program
Files....but I believe that was mainly if you didn't have local admin
on your PC???

There's surprising little information about actually installing the
product in the infocenter?

Thanks!
