I appreciate the help. I got the extension location added and when I view the install log it shows file:/C:/Program Files/SoftLanding/RSE Extensions/eclipse/ was added but I'm still unable to see it within RSE.

Thanks

First off, make sure you downloaded and are installing the RSE Extensions that support 8.0.
This is listed on softlanding.com as:
download RDP/RDi 7.5+ plugin
(verified through RDP 8.0)

In order to see the Manage Configuration you must enable classic update Window -> Preferences -> General -> Capabilities You will then see the options listed to add an extension location.

I have installed the Softlanding RSE Extension on windows XP but I
can't get it to show up in RDP 8.

From within RDP 7's IDE, I checked Windows -> Preferences -> Remote
Systems -> IBM I, for the RSE extension and I didn't see anything related.

I attempted to follow the instructions below in the read me but in
version
8 I don't see Help -> Software Updates -> Manger Configuration. I do
see Check for updates and install new software and IBM installation
manger. I tried those but could not get them to work.

Any idea what I may be missing?

COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION MANUALLY

--------
WDSC 7.x
--------

To complete the installation on WDSC 7.x or other Eclipse 3.2-based
IDEs, you must define the plug-in to that IDE.
You do this by creating an "Eclipse Extension Location."

Start your IDE and go to: Help -> Software Updates -> Manage
Configuration

Once there, select the "Add an Extension Location" option.

Select the appropriate location based on where you installed the RSE
Extensions. The default path would be:

C:\Program Files\SoftLanding\RSE Extensions\eclipse

Your IDE may then require a restart for the plug-ins to become available.
