Could it have anything to do with it being installed in the Program Files
directory? Have you tried installing it in C:\IBM instead and then trying
the update?

[WDSCI-L] 8.0.0.3 Install fails - and roasts RDP completely

I think I'll be sticking with the basic RDP 8 for a while unless someone
has some ideas about this.

This afternoon I tried to install the .3 fixpack and it failed towards the
end with a whole bunch of log messages about being unable to create
certain files. Annoying as this was it wasn't half as annoying as
subsequently finding out that RDP will not now load at all. I get an
Eclipse message telling me that there is no JVM in
...IBM\SDP\jdk\jre\bin\javaw.exe - so it appears that it had all the
authority needed to wipe out the old files but somehow not enough to put
the dang new versions back!

This is on WIndows 7 - anyone seen this before? I am the administrator and
am signed on as such.

I loaded a completely new version of RDP - which again ran fine until I
foolishly tried the update again!

Tried to clean up the old directories and cannot do so. If I try to take
ownership of the C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP\jdk\jre\bin folder so that I can
delete it I get told that the present owner cannot be determined and to
try to take ownership. That attempt fails too even though I am an
administrator. Up until now I have quite liked Windows 7 - but I'm going
off it really quickly!

Any ideas anyone?
