Bill,

One thing about installing these products on Windows 7 is that you DO NOT WANT to install the IBM eclipse-based product into the default "Program Files" directory. I have taken to installing the entire product into a C:\IBM root directory.

The problem with installing into "Program Files" now is that these are virtual directory paths, and Windows 7 seems to impose new restrictions on what is allowed to change the files stored there. Also, make sure that your workspace is local to your PC, and not stored on a network drive...

Subject: [WDSCI-L] webfacing DDS convert option not available

I have a small webfaced application on which I'm doing some minor
enhancements. I find that the options under Webfacing projects to add
or convert DDS are now grayed out and no longer available. I suspect
this may have changed when I moved to a different pc a few weeks ago (XP
to Win 7); certainly nothing else has changed. We're using WDSC 7.0 and
V5R4 OS.

When moving to the other pc I reinstalled WDSC and just copied the
workspace as is. I suspect there may be a license file which it's not
finding (living outside of the workspace?) although we've never had to
deal with any licensing issue before (single developer shop, etc). I
thought I had tested all functions after moving but apparently not this
one.

Anybody have any suggestions? Maybe just a setting somewhere that
allows these options?

Thanks much.

Bill Reed
