The debug line is highlighted in the Debugger Editor, not in Lpex. (Well, in Lpex, after a step or a breakpoint, the debug line and the current (cursor) line are the same, so it may be highlighted, but when you move the cursor the debug line looks like any another line, arrow in the margin notwithstanding.)
The Debugger Editor is used when in the *LISTING view, so you can switch to that view if you want.

If you already are at 8.0.0.2, there is a new (or returning) preference to always use the Debug Editor, I have not tried it. If you're not at 8.0.0.2 I would not install it just for that because I've found that release noticeably slower than 8.0.0.1.
