Just for my education
What does Quantum DB give you that you don't get with the RDp data tools
that come integrated?

Edmund (E.H.) Reinhardt

Just my personal opinion, Edmund. Functionally, there are no major
differences. However, QuantumDB is (relatively) simple to set up, very easy
to use and performs exceptionally fast. Quantum DB has always been
available - even for WDSc (Base) users - whereas the integrated Database Development Tools
have only recently been generally available.

Earlier experiences with the Rational Data Tools were quite painful - i.e. complicated set up and non-intuitive in use. However, these issues have been largely addressed with RDP 8.0; I do like the prompted SQL Query Builder support within the SQL Scrapbook view. Perhaps it is time to give the Data Tools another spin. (WDSc/RDi users will, of course, tend to stick with Quantum DB.)
