I have been using WDSC/RDp, since version 5.0. At the time I started investigating WDSC, I was already using CODE/400 for 99% of my programming, because you could not only edit programs, but visually design screens and reports much easier and quicker. I had already moved away, for the most part, from SEU/SDA./RLU. I still used SEU for quick 1 line code changes. Of course, WDSC didn't have a screen and report designer, but CODE/400 did and that was far better than SDA and RLU. Eventually, WDSC had a "link" to open DSPF and PRTF directly from WDSC into CODE/400. So, I guess you could say WDSC did have a screen and report designer. It just took advantage of one that already existed.

I disagree. I think it is because it is not as good as SEU. It is a
wonderful tool, but they(IBM) went 90% of the way again. Without screen
design, report design, and debug done easily, why would people want to use
it. You still have to use both.

"The market overwhelmingly prefers SEU."

And is that because getting/installing/learning/using WDSCi RDP itself is
so confusing?

FWIW - once I got my account in the license center it only took me 5
minutes to get and install the license key - so why did Rational think I
needed a 27 page document justto do that?
