Re: IBM is so confusing!

Actually, there are 'Development Studio' for Power products! In reality,
they are two or more products bundled together (I don't know the prices but
I'd guess cheaper than buying them individually). The 'Development Studio'
bundles include compilers. The 'Power Tools' bundles include RAD Standard
Edition.

Here is the list: of available bundles (in addition to the 4 options in RD
Power itself):
- Power Tools for i (includes RPG and COBOL Development Tools for i, and
IBM Rational Application Developer Standard Edition for WebSphere Software)
- Power Tools for AIX (includes C/C++ Development Tools for AIX, and IBM
Rational Application Developer Standard Edition for WebSphere Software)
- C/C++ Development Studio for AIX (includes C/C++ Development Tools for
AIX, and IBM XL C/C++ for AIX)
- COBOL Development Studio for AIX (includes COBOL Development Tools for
AIX, and IBM COBOL for AIX)
- C/C++ Development Studio for Linux (includes C/C++ Development Tools for
Linux, and IBM XL C/C++ for Linux)

Not to mention many posts to get this straight.

Personally I think Rational Development Studio for i, Rational Development
Studio for AIX COBOL, etc would be clearer. The whole suite would be
Rational Development Studio Professional (copying MS naming conventions).
