I'm guess that generic filters, e.g. A*, B*, etc are the only way to do
what I was trying to do.

Using the GUI, I think you are right. Although I have to say that I
never thought of doing it that way. In my mind, the word 'filter' is
translated to 'project'. I never think of a project as all programs
beginning with the letter A, etc.

This isn't intended as a criticism. I've learnt a great many things
about WDSC by reading about things that people smarter than me do with
it. I just wanted to share my crude, brute force method with the list.
