Just to elaborate....

copied 7.6 workspace
cleared target library
issue project build
project built clean
set SEP
call test suite program
debugger perspective launched
debugger works as expected

check user actions for updates of programs and service programs
that all works too.

compiles with prompts... ok
error list returned... ok

All from Fedora 12.

So... real work... yes. Goodbye virtualBox XP... ;-)

ps. While I didn't have to change anything or update anything in Fedora 12 for RDP 8, I DO use the RpmFusion repository for yum in my Fedora installs.

Real work? Like compiles? I would expect that to work... still have a
little setup work before I release the clean and full builds for the
current projects... but...

Still so far, all seems well, connections to machines, subversion is
connected, projects checked out to new workspace... OH and the revision
graph in subversion works with this combination... it wasn't working
in/with 7.6, although I didn't have time to explore why.

Arrrrrrrrrghh! Crap.... on preferences dialog, Remote Systems, IBM i,
Program Verifiers, COBOL, Flagging and Messages panel... the damn Limit
Number of Messages has *NOM in the field, *NOMAX on the pull-down, but
the field won't change and you can't exit the panel cause it's an
invalid value... you have to cancel the dialog. (So far, I can live with
that temporarily... )

And copying the profile information did not seem to keep the LPEX editor
User Key Actions information.

Well screw windows...

RDP 8 runs just ducky in Fedora 12 so far! Installed just fine, the keys
are on the Passport Advantage site... Hoorrah! Now if I can remember how
to install all that Subversion crap... ;-) Why they ship it with CVS and
not Subversion is beyond me...
Let us know if you can do Real Work on it using the IBM i tooling? I
guess thats where the native code dragons dwell...
