The simple brute-force-and-ignorance method is:

1) Make sure batch compiles are turned off in Preferences.
2) Run the override commands (I use the Command Entry box in the iSeries Commands Log). Make sure you use OVRSCOPE(*JOB).
3) Compile.

Tools make it easier, but it's good to know the direct method, too.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Override database or printer file when compiling from WDSC

I have a fellow webpshere programmer here in the office and he is
wondering how to issue a printer or file override when submitting a batch
compile from WDSC 7. Since I don't ever override when compiling I don't
know how to help him. Thanks for any help you guys can send along.
