Hi,

The only thing I can suggest to help here would be to habitually press ALT-U before any snippet insertions.

Best regards,
Paul

Subject: [WDSCI-L] snippets danger

Has anyone had this?

If I try and insert code from snippets having forgotten that elsewhere in the source, lines of code have been selected, eg, by ALT-L :

The PC locks for a considerable time. Eventually I find the contents of the snippets have replaced the code that was inadvertently selected, instead of appearing at the line where the cursor was positioned. Control J will not work and will not find the modification. Alt + page will not find the selected code as it is no longer selected. Worse, control z and y no longer work. Only the star on the editor tab says that the code has been modified. Also, when trying ctrl z multiple times (to try and force it to work!!) I find this is dangerously close to ctrl s!

I just had to close the editor and lose my modifications which luckily were few. This time.
