I would like to ask all of you a favor. Since we all carry on about naming
from IBM, why is it that some of us have decided to obfuscate the process,
and call products from IBM by the WRONG name?

I have to say that the new name wasn't all that clear to me. I do try
to follow official nomenclature, but we have some very well used
exceptions - RPG IV / ILE RPG springs immediately to mind. The last
time I heard anyone refer to the language by the name printed on the
cover was before System/38 was announced.

I do have a bit of a problem trying to discuss «the IDE that runs on the
PC» vs «the IDE that runs on the 5250 datastream»

It's not obtructionism on my part; although the bits that face us as
users aren't that much different by version/product, the details of the
installations are. Sometimes, the answer to a question depends on the
installed version and sometimes the answer is generic across the
post-CODE/400 family. I've sort of given up and referred to the family
as 'the GUI IDE'.

Is that worse than saying WDSC/RDi/RD Power?
