Can you try to turn the automatic updates off for Installation Manager by
going to File -> Preferences.. -> Updates and deselect "Search for
Installation Manager Updates.".

Some of my coworkers now have new pc's, and now Windows 7 Pro.

We are current at V5R4 so that leaves us with WDSCi V7.

WDSCi installs ok but to get the updates we have to use the IBM
Installation manager, which insists on updating itself, but the update to
itself fails. We've tried all three options (install, update, modify)
available but each results in the following:

Help - they don't want to use SEU :)
