As for the update manager, are you using IBM's Installation Manager to update the software with? If you're trying to update it through WDSC, it's likely not to work correctly. If you are at 7.0.0.8 you are at the current release. If you've never used IBMs Installation Manager, it's likely that will update itself first before you can update WDSC.

I also believe you need to be up to date with PTFs on your system...but I lack knowledge in this area when it comes to V5R3 vs. Windows 7.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] New Win 7 user of WDSCi

Hello,
I have a new Win 7 Professional 32bit computer that I installed WDSCi 7.0 on. It runs fine but I cannot get it to connect to my iSeries V5R3. If I run the verify connection it comes back with all succesfulls. Also the Update manager will not let me install any updates. It shows them but I never get the update button to activate.

Thanks in advance
