Actually I'm asking purely out of curiosity - I do use Code Designer for screens - have looked though at the one in WDSC 7 AE - preview - it looks nice. So I'll probably move to that eventually. We don't do many reports here, as I'm inclined to use QM queries and forms instead, if I need a report. Of course, we don't have the same needs as a standard line-of-business shop.

I think he wants to use the CODE designer, I still use when doing maintenance on green screen programs, or even building new ones. Yes some people still use them. I use WDSC 7.0 so the new designer isn't an option but the code one has worked well for many years and it does reports.

Vern,

1) Unless IBM introduced it without telling anyone, there's no way to set up a PDM option to invoke LPEX in WDSCi or RDi for a specific source member from the green screen.
2) Why would anyone who's used to LPEX in WDSCi or RDi want to fall back to using the CODE editor? I used CODE for years and loved it back then, but now when I have to go into it to edit something (like our VA-RPG application that refuses to die), it drives me nuts. Just the lack of the Outline view kills me. It's better than SEU, but it ain't what I'm used to anymore.

In my past lives, I always used Abstract/Probe. Here we have Hawkeye. Its
stagnation hasn't impressed me. This is just another example of what I dislike about the product.

OK now I'm going to be ignorant here - is CODE not included with RDi on
a separate CD? Or can't you just run your present CODE separately? I'm
not using 7.5, so I'm not up on this completely.

Also, is there a command that will call RDi from the green screen, that
you could put into a user option?

Also, Arcad does have a 5250 plugin for WDSC (RDi?).
