David,

Sorry about that--a couple of posts later in the same thread
(http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l/200603/msg00060.html), it was
corrected that the key combination is Ctrl+2. I remember trying it back
then and I've used it ever since.

I use Ctrl+0 (that's control, plus zero) to close a new view. However,
that option might not have been added until Version 7 if I recall
correctly. I think I added something in 'Preferences' under 'LPEX
Editor', 'User Key Actions' to close views. I personally don't like
switching back and forth between the mouse and the keyboard more than is
absolutely required.

As for the right-click option, you can click in the editor view and near
the bottom there's a 'View' menu, from there you can select 'Open new
view'.

Eric and others. I disagree:

Split views was introduced in V 6.0.1. See "Hot 6.0.1 Tip
#2: Remote Systems LPEX Editor: Split Views" from the archives at:
http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l/200603/msg00057.html

Well, I can confirm that I'm on V6.0.1 and it won't work for me.

The message from Violaine is strange as others say to use ctrl 2 and
not ctrl F2.

Also, what does <right-click in Remote Systems LPEX Editor> actually
mean? Right click in the editor view? Or somewhere in Remote Systems
view? Neither method works for me.
