For consumption of a web service see Scott Klement's site for his HTTP API http://www.scottklement.com/httpapi/ - there are many code samples in the package and he has written extensively on the subject in System i News - most of those articles also linked on his site.

For providing a service you can code it yourself as an HTTP type request (I would use CGIDEV2) and there are examples out there. I _think_ the Renaissance framework for CGIDEV2 (http://www.renaissanceframework.com/ ) has it built in and others have published examples in CGIDEV2.

You can also use the facilities provided by IBM in recent releases to simply convert any RPG program to a web service supplier as others have noted.
