I realize I was did not give all the keys to do it my way.

Alt-R to start rectangle select
Shift- arrow (up down right left) to select the area to fill
Alt-F (Created in the windows>preferences>lpex editor> user Key actions as
key: a-f action: blockFill) brings up the fill prompt at the bottom of the
screen
key fill characters like *
Press enter to execute the fill
Alt-U to Unselect the area

As Vern says - takes longer to describe than to do.

My favorite way is to highlight the comment column using alt-r, arrow down
or up to select the lines to comment out, then use alt-f (fill) and key an *
and press enter. That fills the selected area with the character(s)
entered.

I know that you can't do block commenting in RPGIV (at least that I'm
aware of), so is there something in LPEX that will help me comment out
large blocks of code quickly without having to put a asterick on each
line?
