Rick,

Are you installing from CD, or downloaded disk images from Passport
Advantage? If installing from downloads, you need to be very careful
that you use a valid release build. Pre-release versions do not update
in IM correctly....

For 751, the GM build should be 20081120_1243
For 7511, the GM build should be 20090128_0708
For 7512, the GM build should be 20090408_1224

IM 1.3 is fine for Rdi-SOA 7.5. In IM, go to Properties, then add a
repository to your CD drive (H: drive?), insert your media (disk 1),
then install. I never check for updates on a new install, since I've
been burned on that before. Install components in order: RBD 7.5.1, WAS
7.0, Rdi 7.5, then HATS 7.5. After you have completed the base install,
I would recommend that you launch the product for the first time,
letting eclipse configure all the plugins. Installing the activation
jars can occur any time after you complete the initial install. Updates
come next if you want...

IBM had some issues recently involving the RBD 7.5.1.1 update. This
update (as well as 7.5.1.2) seem to work ok now.

One thing to check, I think there are version dependencies for some of
the update levels. For example, Rdi 7.5.0.2 requires RBD 7.5.1.1, and
both must be installed together, or you could hose your installation. I
think someone (IBM support) mentioned a JVM update in those packages at
those levels...

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Installing RDi-SOA V7.5.1 on XP SP3 and SP2

I've been trying for a couple weeks to install RDi-SOA on my home
desktop machine that previously had VARPG, CODE, WDSc and RDi V7.1
without any success. I removed the older WDSc when I put on RDi. I have
since removed RDi V7.1 thinking there was a conflict and I wanted RDi
7.5 even though I've been told the two versions should co-exist. I also
backed off Win/SP3 because the IBM Doc website did not specifically
mention it as supported. I am doing my install from disk images on H:
drive to C: drive with only 8GB free disk space and 1MB of memory (low
but works for RDi). At one point, I reinstalled RDi 7.1 with no
problems. I kept Code editor, just in case.

The Lauchpad install program appears to locate the appropriate image
directories, I complete the checkoffs for RDB, Struts and WAS 7, it
proceeds for a while without prompts, spends a very long time on
"Completing for eclipse" and then fails with the message below. On my
first attempt, the product upgraded IM from 1.2 to 1.3. I wondered if I
should also remove Installation Manager 1.3 from the system to start
over more completely? Would that help? Are there any other directories
that I should be deleting that might contain old left over stuff? My
userID has admin rights but the name of the Windows profile contains
spaces like "Rick and Sue" as opposed to a single name. Would this cause
problems?

I searched the archives for message text and did not get any RDi-SOA
listings so, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Error during "install" phase: Error removing intermediate unpacked
files at C:\Program
Files\IBM\SDP\cictmp\com.ibm.jre.stop.dci.rac.uninstall_1.0.0.20070308_2
200\1.
