David,

What exactly is the message you got when you tried to restart it from
WDSc?

Thanks,

Re: [WDSCI-L] Can't debug

Thanks, I've now found that. Start was greyed out. Stopped it OK but can't
restart it from WDSc. I get a message telling me to verify the PTF on the
iseries.

Hi David,

"right click on a subsystem in RSE" = Open the Remote System Explorer
(RSE), expand your connection, right-click the "iSeries Objects" item (a
subsystem) and move the mouse to the "Remote Servers" submenu, and then
hover over the "Debug" option. You will get another submenu with
Start/Stop on it. If Start is not greyed out then click it. If it is
greyed out, then the server is started.

On the iSeries, when you typed STRDBGSVR, were there any joblog messages?
I get authority issues on some of the iSeries machines here, which cause
the STRDBGSVR command to fail.

Best regards,
Paul

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Can't debug

Hi,

All of a sudden I can't debug, although this is the first time I've tried
in a new workspace.

I do STRDBGSVR on my greenscreen, but when I try to define my SEP in WDSc
( V6.0.1 ), a message box says the debug server hasn't been started. It
also says to right click on a subsystem in RSE : what's that?

If I do F1 on the greenscreen message "Debug server started", it says
"Debug server router function is listening on port 3825."

Any ideas?

<groan>Back I go to STRSRVJOB and STRDBG</groan>
