Thanks Dave and everyone for the tips.

Our SOX auditors do require that our PCs be 'logged off' when away from
our desks.
I am still on W2000 and get faster startups if I leave my PC active.
I have been putting my PC into 'standby' mode but every now and then it
does not
'wake up' out of standby mode. I dont know why I need to do a warm boot to
get
it going again, so I am trying different things , such as logging off all
my
sessions etc etc.

Frank,

In RSE, right-click each connection that's open and click Disconnect.
That
will end the connection job on the i, which is what you're starting when
you
'sign on'.
