Past that it will almost certainly still work but without IBM support.

All it would take is a small change to a communication to iSeries mechanism
and it could break old versions of WDSC. Or a change could be made that
causes an annoying side effect. I wouldn't hold my breath with being able
to use WDSC 7.0.x forever on releases after V6R1.
