Now THAT is intriguing. I have that same need for another client where they
only allow certain IPs to connect to their machine, and being that I don't
have a static IP at my home office I gave up trying to have them keep it up
to date (I get a new IP each time I reboot my router). So instead I have to
telnet and use green screen <frown> to edit my RPG. Is it just a Java
program sitting in a batch job, or how does it work? How about
responsive-ness?
It is this thing http://jsocks.sourceforge.net/ put in the IFS, and I wrote a small shell script to invoke it which I run manually. I have run this under V5R3 and AIX 4.3.3 (where AIX was faster than the AS/400).

When you have it configured properly and started, in WSDCi open Preferences and locate Internet -> Proxy and enable it and tick of the SOCKS checkbox. That works for me.
