Thanks for the link. I read through it and now have a better understanding of what the EGL Rich Web Support has to offer. It looks really interesting from a rich UI perspective. Is this IBMs answer to Flex and Silverlight? Also, is there a resource to find more info on the other aspect of EGL that exposes the RPG progs as services to be consumed? Does EGL support on the back-end require Websphere?
Ooops.... should have answered this.

EGL RWS is a different concept than Silverlight or Dojo or GWT - because in the long run EGL can embrace all of those. EGL can theoretically generate anything it needs to, whether it's Dojo code in JavaScript or business logic in COBOL. It's also built to allow you to extend it, either with your own Java classes on the server side or with JavaScript on the client.

It's pretty amazing what can be done.

You can find more EGL information than you can shake a stick at over on Jon Sayles' site, but to be honest, calling an RPG program from EGL is a single CALL opcode. Exposing it as a web service is simply wrapping it in an function and in a Service part and then telling EGL to generate the WSDL.

And no, EGL does not require WebSphere.
