The chat didn't seem to spell it out very well, so I found this blurb at
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/rational/announce/systems/i/:

IBM wrote:
IBM Rational Developer for System i for SOA Construction is a new
software
bundle offering to enable i5/OS developers to do Web development and
to
create Web services using their existing RPG/COBOL programs or service
programs This software bundle will include IBM Rational Business
Developer
and IBM Rational Developer for System i.

So it looks like Joe is correct, although I haven't seen anything about
upgrading from RDi to RDi-SOA. Hopefully that will be available.

Justin/Joe,

According to the iSociety chat from Wednesday RDi-SOA will cost $1995.
I'm guessing that sits on top of RDi ($795), so the total cost for
both
will be $2790.

No, I think you got it reversed. I'm pretty sure you can upgrade from
RDi to RDi-SOA, which means the upgrade would be $1200. A bit stiff,
but that's between you and IBM. I don't do pricing, other thatn to say
it's too much <grin>.
