Good point. I guess you're saying that if Rational gives me RDi at an $800 discount, I'll still be paying $160 per year for the SWMA? That is, they wouldn't waive the SWMA... While I personally find enough value in WDSC to pay the SWMA out of pocket, it's another proposition entirely for my employer to pay that for every programmer. The boss will definitely see that as a brand new expense; one that needs to be justified with hard ROI numbers.

I didn't see anything in the transcript about Rational targeting RDi to individual developers. I downloaded Norton Internet Security from their web site and plunked in my credit card number. Every year, they charge me for the annual subscription and my PoE is renewed. It sure would be nice...
