At the risk of starting to sound like Trevor and "System i":
It's just the way it is. Not a complaint! I need to figure out how to convince the boss to spend $800 per person plus a new annual maintenance expense, and if there's any place I'd like to see the conversation turn, that's it. I like WDSC and want to keep using it. I need the ammo to convince the boss.
You can't use WDSC anymore. Well, you can use it but it goes out of support in two years. You're talking about using RDi, and as long as you're only using WDSC for RPG development, then RDi is fine.

Seems odd though. From a strictly mathematical perspective, Rational can't make more money by giving away seats to RDi. I thought the whole idea was for Rational to make more money.
Your math is a bit faulty. You forgot about the 20% a year SWMA. That's the new pricing paradigm. That's nearly $200 a year a seat, a very healthy cost. It's very much in RDi's interest to get everyone off of ADTS and onto RDi.
