I just read this article by Bruce Eckel (Thinking In Java author):

he is formulating an exit plan from Java - maybe he is being semi facetious.



In my mind EGL is an attempt to directly address his main concerns as it
puts a layer on top of Java to simplify business programming. Makes we
wonder if that is how IBM is marketing the language and if guys like Bruce
are being asked to preview the language and development environment.

After doing a brief review of some sites (i.e. onjava.com,
theserverside.com, etc) I am not finding much buzz about EGL. What are
other people's thoughts on using RBDe and EGL vs.
RAD/MyEclipseIDE/EclipseWTP and Java to build your apps?
