I don't think the compare options ever worked as expected, but, as usual, I was in a hurry and I didn't research any more.

I have been using Subversion for awhile (I preferred it to CVS), and the "Compare" options work wonderfully. It works very nicely to compare with different versions of the same program.

However, I understand your pain. If I have to compare two sources files out of CVS/Subversion I have to use a different tool (not WDSC). Perhaps somebody has found how to use the Compare options without CVS/Subversion.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Comparing source members

Back in a previous life, I thought I remembered that the Compare with each
other option of WDSC worked relatively well. That seems to have been a
dream, because today I can't get around the issue of source dates and
sequence numbers not matching.

That is, if the source dates don't match (I clear them, or I do some sort of
mass touch of lines or any other little thing that changes the source dates)
then the members no longer match, and it's back to CMPPFM.

Was it just a dream when I could compare members?

Joe
