Easy enough to set it back up just takes a minute.

Definitely a member command. Running the following command:
RPGTOOLBOX/RPGWIZ FROMFILE(KEVIN/QRPGSRC) FROMMBR(DLT0SCANS)
FROMTYPE(*RPG4) TOFILE(*FROMFILE) TOMBR(DLT0SCANF) FMTCALC(*FREE)
FILEBIF(*YES) CVTENTRY(*YES) CVTCALL(*YES) INDNEST(*INDENT4)

This is the joblog it generates:

Same thing run as a compile command runs just fine.

This may not have been your problem, but if I had gotten that error I
would have looked to see whether I had accidentally set it up as an
Object
Action rather than a Member Action. That would throw that kind of
error
every time.

I don't have RPGWIZ so I can't check it, but like Charles I don't see
why
it shouldn't work as a Member Action, assuming it has no interactive
screens. I've set up Member Actions to run very specific compiles
rather
than set up Compile Actions for them, and didn't encounter any
problems
that led me to believe that there's a real difference between the two
in
the way that WDSCi runs the commands. I could be wrong, of course.

It's been a while since I set mine up, but as I recall for whatever
reason I got an error about it not finding the source I was running
the
action on. I looked it up at the time and I've had it as a compile
command ever since.
