You got my vote Darrell. I call it the PeaSea (I wont mention another
acronym in public). But I believe there are deeper agendas at work.
Riddle me this.
'Say ALL computers suddenly became very stable and the software worked
wonderfully well, like the AS400, what would happen to all the
computer software and hardware vendors.
No more hardware upgrades to sell. No more software versions to buy.
No more training to learn how to twiddle the buttons.'

Answer 'they would all go broke'.
From all I hear IBM has a very hard time prising open the pockets
of the AS400 users. But Bill does a wonderful job of racking it in.
See, it doesn't pay to make 100% reliable hardware and software
that does not fail.

So they tread the light fantastic with just enough functionality to
keep us interested and just enough 'features' to make us want to
ditch the latest multi giga-whatits hardware and software.
Hmmm 'why is my PC still as slow as the first PC I ever bought'.
and why it this AS400, oh iseries, no its a i5, or it could be a system i
maybe its a S38 so screamingly fast, oh I know,
its to run java (wards off the evil eye).

Amazing how we move can from a stable platform (iSeries), to a none
stable
platform (PC base), and call it an improvement. I call it social
engineering.
