Hi David

I hope this will be helpful - there are tutorials both in WDSC and on the net that can tell you all this - as well as the help text in WDSC, although that is often tough sledding.

In WDSC 7 go to the Help menu and click on Tutorials, I think - you'll see it. Once there, you will see 4 or 5 categories. 2 point to some debugger information

Tour -> iSeries -> Introduction to WDSC

Do and learn -> iSeries -> - Develop ... -> Maintain ... -> Debugging ...

Then you (and all of us) should go to www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400 which is the WDSC main web page. From there, click on the Library link. There are COMMON presentations, including a specific one on the Integrated Debugger. The "Do and learn" tutorials are there, too. And more.There are links to tutorials for earlier releases, as well.

Don Nitke also has made some excellent tutorials - he posts on this list, so go to the archives and search for his name. Last I heard they were for version 6 but should be mostly the same for 7 - and he may have updated ones - Don?

An hour or two going through those resources will answer most of your questions. Time well spent.

Regards
Vern

Thanks for all the help so far.

Now, I don't see the variable in the debug variables view that I need to know the value of.
What do I do to replace typing "EVAL MyVariable" that I would do on the green screen?
