SEPs are nice, but don't work with OPM RPG.

So I still use STRRSESVR a lot.

Michael,

In answer to your questions:
1) Each WDSC user needs their own 5250 session. The STRRSESVR ties the green screen session issuing
the command to the instance of WDSCi running on the same PC running the 5250 session that issued the
command. Hopefully that makes sense :)

2) n/a

3) Right click on first level nodes, such as iSeries Objects, iSeries Commands, iSeries Jobs, and
select "Release Interactive Job"

HTH,
Charles

application" andRSESVR...

Michael, why are you executing green screen commands from WDSC at all?
Typically people need to do that for one of two reasons: to
run status commands or the like, or to debug interactive applications.

For the former, you don't really need a WDSC session. If you
really need to run a green screen command (e.g., WRKACTJOB) a
regular emulation session is probably better.

For debugging interactive jobs, Service Entry Points (SEPs)
are the way to go.

There was a thread on this a while back, and the general
consensus was that SEPs removed pretty much removed the need
for STRRSESVR. And for those situations where you just don't
want to Alt-Tab to the emulator session, some folks even
suggested an emulator plug-in.
